Dance sneakers are made to look very much like regular sneakers, but they are made to be danced in. There are some key differences between sneakers for dancing and regular ones. Knowing what these differences are and what they are for will help you make the best decision when shopping.

Most dance sneakers have split soles on them. This makes it easier for the dancer to flex and point their toes as much as they want. The more motion they have in their feet, the more moves they can accomplish.

Another feature that many dance sneakers have is a spin spot. This is a bare spot on the sole located below the ball of the foot. This spot makes it easy for the dancer to spin around without a lot of resistance. When you are shopping for these sneakers, make sure that these features are there.
